Julie Selway

Julie Selway is an expert in lithium pegmatites. She completed a Ph.D. thesis on 15 localities (petalite-subtype, lepidolite-subtype and elbaite-subtype) including Tanco pegmatite, Manitoba with Petr Cerny in 1999. She spent three years working at the Ontario Geological Survey as a pegmatite geoscientist completing regional geological mapping and sampling of pegmatites in Northern Ontario. She has visited and/or worked on about 90% of the LCT pegmatites in Ontario including: Separation Rapids, Georgia Lake, Crescent Lake area, Dryden area and Case Lake. She supervised two drill programs and co-authored four NI 43-101 Reports on Rock Tech Lithium’s albite-spodumene type Georgia Lake Property. She is currently the VP of Exploration for Power Metals Corp and is supervising the exploration program at Case Lake, Cochrane, Ontario. She has completed project generation to identify lithium pegmatite properties to be staked/optioned for various companies. She is the author of the classic paper: “A Review of Rare-Element (Li-Cs-Ta) Pegmatite Exploration Techniques for the Superior Province, Canada and Large Worldwide Tantalum Deposits” published in Exploration and Mining Geology in 2005.

Jian Xiong

Jian Xiong (B. Eng., M.Sc. in geology) is an expert in Cu-Ni-PGE and Co deposits exploration with over 20 years of experience in Canada. In the 1990’s, Jian worked as project geologist for Canmine Resources Corporation and carried out the diamond drilling exploration programs at Werner Lake, Ontario and Bird River area, Manitoba. During this time, he discovered the West Cobalt Deposit, Werner Lake and followed by underground advanced exploration. He also discovered the Eastern Shallow Cobalt Deposit, Gordon Lake in the same belt. He delineated the Maskwa Cu-Ni-PGE deposit.

In 2000’s, Jian finalized the Manitoba PGE database compilation for exploration while working for the Manitoba Geological Survey. He worked as project geologist for Wildcat Exploration Ltd. in the Rice Lake gold belt, Bissett, Manitoba. He worked as the General Manager of Exploration for Pacific Minerals Inc. and carried out PGE exploration, and underground advanced exploration drilling program on Jin Bao Shan Pt-Pd deposit in southwest China.

Jian worked for FNX/Quadra FNX for nine years as project geologist, and senior project geologist in the Sudbury Basin. He was instrumental in the discovery of the world-class Victoria Cu-Ni-PGE Deposit, and he also delineated the PM Deposit at McCreedy mine prior to production. As well as worked on exploration programs at Levack and Podolsky mines.

Jian worked for Wallbridge Mining as senior project geologist for three years. He did detailed 3D interpretation and modelling Parkin Offset in Sudbury Basin and generated new exploration targets.

Currently, Jian is Executive Vice President and Director for Canadian Jia Yu Investment & Management Co., Ltd., the investment arm of a Beijing real estate development company. Jian completes due diligence on investment opportunities.

His specialities include 3D modelling and drill targeting generating with a track record of many discoveries. He has the ability to look at all of the geological data and think outside the box to create a new exploration model and generate targets.
